Jung Min-Ye
Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the potential of habituation training for improving and maintaining the craniovertebral angle (CVA) in older adults with forward head posture.

Methods: To improve and maintain CVA, habituation training was provided to two older persons with FHP. The experiment used a BA design and had a total of nine sessions, including six intervention (B) and three generalization sessions (A). CVA was measured to compare the forward head posture after each session. During the generalization sessions, only CVA was measured, without any intervention.

Results: CVA significantly increased during the intervention sessions, with this effect continuing during the generalization sessions.

Conclusion: Habituation training is effective for improving forward head posture and shows a lasting effect after the intervention sessions. This study could help provide occupational therapy interventions for improving forward head posture.
